The Brief
A partner deck that looks and sounds like Sundance.
For over 40 years, the Sundance Institute has hosted the Sundance Film Festival, a gathering of more than 125,000 attendees for film and episodic screenings, panels and celebrations, and a launchpad for artists worldwide. This year the Festival begins a new chapter in Boulder, Colorado, while the Institute continues its artist programs from Park City, Utah. Collab, the Institute's year-round digital learning hub, brings storytellers into the same global community.
The Advancement and Artist Program teams needed one pitch deck template that could carry all three, so they could secure sponsorships without rebuilding the story for every conversation. The audience was potential sponsors, new and returning. The deck had to be clear, captivating and comprehensive, and it had to be a template the teams could pick up and use themselves.
The Approach
Start from what Sundance already owns, then make the rules clear enough to reuse.
The identity was already strong: Sundance Yellow, black and white, a circular motif. The work keeps all of it and adds structure. Headlines lead and pages stay sparse, with minimal text on clean white backgrounds. Photography sits in rounded, and shapes are circles or softly rounded squares. The goal was clean, editorial and confident: cinematic prestige with corporate clarity.
Imagery carries the story of place. Festival slides use Boulder, the Festival's home for the next ten years. Institute slides use Park City and Utah. Collab slides show an online learning platform for creators of all levels. Evergreen Festival and Institute logos stay in the bottom right corner of every page, so each slide is recognizably Sundance wherever it travels.
